Oops, we slipped 1725kms!
After a very enjoyable stay in Jodhpur we traveled back to Jaipur by train and then flew south via Ahmedabad to Goa. We are now on the beach at Anjuna (home of Goan trance) paying R's300 a night, for an extra R's200 we get use of a moped (sorry mum) which is great for exploring the local coastline and area. Anjuna itself has a great flea market, and the beach is lined with palm trees and safe for swimming. We have also found a little quieter beach up the coast where we have been practising our wave diving and surfing. The food here is more varied and fresh fruit great, especially from Suzie our fresh fruit lady, who cuts us fresh melons, papaya or pineapple for breakfast. Goa is also famous for its Fish curry, so here is a reciepe for you to try.
500g firm white fish (coley, panga etc)
2 tbsp oil
salt to taste
water
mustard paste as below
2 tbsp mustard seeds
1 green chilli
1/2 tsp turmeric
1 tsp salt
Cut the fish in to big chunks. Make mustard paste by putting together all ingredients and then blend. Marinate the fish in this and add one tablespoon oil. Leave for half and hour or whole day. Heat the remaining oil in a pan add fish and marinade, simmer until cooked. Serve with plain rice.
